Conservatory Roof Replacement & Insulation
This project involved removing the ageing roof from an existing conservatory and replacing it with a new insulated lightweight slate roof. The original roof no longer provided the appearance, insulation or long-term protection expected from a regularly used living space.
The replacement roof gives the conservatory a more substantial finish while helping to improve comfort and temperature control throughout the year. Its slate appearance also blends far more naturally with the main property.
A More Practical Year-Round Space
Older conservatory roofs can make rooms difficult to use, becoming excessively warm during summer and losing heat quickly in colder weather. Replacing the roof provided an opportunity to improve insulation while retaining the existing windows, walls and layout.
The old roof covering was carefully removed before the structure was prepared for the insulated lightweight slate system. The new covering reduces unnecessary weight while giving the appearance of a traditional slate roof and providing reliable weather protection.
New roof detailing and leadwork were completed where the conservatory meets the main building, helping create a watertight and properly finished connection. The completed work gives the extension a cleaner appearance and makes the room more suitable for everyday use.
